McIntyre System Bites the Dust | NRL | Sports Forum

So the NRL, and more importantly, the Independent Commission have finally seen the light and dumped the McIntyre finals system. It's been replaced by a system that is used by the AFL currently, but was also used in the ARL back in the mid 90's before the inception of Super League.

We're interested to get people's opinion on what this will do for the game. Will it make the finals less exciting? Will teams now fight harder to make the top 4 rather than making a late run to the finals and finishing the bottom half?
