Steve’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge – May 18 2012

Another week, another multibet down the toilet. It didn’t help that last week was an absolute horror week for tipping either. Hopefully we get some more luck with this weeks sports bet.

On the positive side, The Roosters with the 12.5 start was a good bet, and Hawthorn and Collingwood did the business in the AFL. However the Bulldogs lost to the Titans, the Hurricanes beat the Highlanders and the Stormers couldn’t cover the line against the Cheetahs.

This week, I’m getting in early, I’m taking a similar bet to last week but I’m going to try and avoid any risks this time.

First up, tomorrow night I like the look of the Brumbies against the Hurricanes but I’m not game to take them straight, instead I’ll take the $1.40 being offered with a 12.5 start, that’s good value.

Also in the Super Rugby, on Saturday afternoon, I’ve taken the Crusaders minus the 10.5 line against the Blues, the Blues may have some false confidence after beating the Lions last week but they aren’t fooling anyone. Expect the Crusaders to bounce back after their shock loss to the Rebels, they also have Dan Carter slotting back into the No. 10 this week.

On Saturday afternoon in the AFL, I’ve taken the Swans to beat the Demons 25+, I was tempted to go 40+ but the Swans without Goodes are a different kettle of fish. Also on Saturday afternoon, I’ve taken the Western Bulldogs with a Triple Margin 15.5 over the Suns. Gold coast will struggle after they were embarrassed by GWS last weekend.

In the NRL, I’ve taken the Roosters with a 12.5 start on Sunday against the Sea Eagles, I risked it last week and it paid off, this week the Sea Eagles are missing the Stewart brothers, Buhrer and Williams who would have returned this week. At $1.44 that looks good to me.

Also on Sunday, I’ve taken the Rabbitohs with an alternate line of +6.0 against the Dragons. The Dragons have injury concerns and the Rabbitohs are in good form, despite the losses of Inglis and Taylor I think they can cover that line.

So there you have it, this weeks sports bet. A total payout of $109.20 for your $10 investment. Let us know your thoughts and what you are thinking of putting on this week!

Good luck and happy punting!

Steve’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge – 11 May 2012

Last week’s multibet went down due to a Collingwood side that just could not finish off the Dockers, in the end only winning by 21 points when we needed at least 25. The Sharks also didn’t turn up to play in Durban against the Highlanders so we ended up missing out on that leg in our sports bet too.

This week, I’ve taken two legs in each of the NRL, Super Rugby and AFL with total odds of $17.35 for the multibet. That’s a payout of $173.50 for a $10 investment here.

First up, I’ve taken the Hawks tonight in a landslide over the hapless Demons. A 40+ margin is still paying decent odds of $1.50 so that looked like good value to me.

Also tonight, I’ve taken the Bulldogs over the Titans in the NRL. They looked to have hit form again last week, albeit against the Eels, and I don’t think the Titans will be able to bounce back after last weeks demoralising golden point loss.

Tomorrow night I’ve taken 2 legs from across the Tasman, with the Roosters travelling to Mt Smart Stadium in the NRL, and the Highlanders hosting the Hurricanes in Super Rugby. After last weeks impressive performance, I’ve taken a 12.5 start on the Roosters to back that up this week against an inconsistent Warriors outfit.

In the Super Rugby, I’ve taken the Highlanders to beat the Hurricanes outright, no risks taken with the starts in this one as it should be a close match.

Later on tomorrow night, I’ve taken the Pies to beat the Lions by 25+. I know, it got me into trouble last week, but the Lions won’t put up as much resistance as the Dockers did last Friday night.

Last up, I’ve taken the Stormers minus 9.5 on the line over the Cheetahs in the Super Rugby on Sunday morning. I’ve left the soccer legs out of this one seeing as it’s coming to the end in most leagues and anything can happen when so much is on the line.

So there you have it, this weeks sports bet. Let me know what you think of this one, and if you have any specials of your own for this weekend.

Good luck and happy punting!

Steve’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge – 4 May 2012

Last weeks sports bet came unstuck by 2 points in the Carlton v Fremantle game thanks to a late flurry of goals from the Dockers. We also didn’t see Wigan smashing an in form Newcastle United side 4-0.

Anyway, on to this weeks multibet and I’ve gone for 6 legs again, seems to be the magic number for good value.

First up I’ve taken Collingwood over the Western Bulldogs tonight by a margin greater than 25 points.

Tomorrow night we kick off with the Chiefs and Lions in the Super 15 Rugby, I’ve taken the Chiefs 13+ in this one. I’ve gone for the same option in tomorrow night’s Panthers v Storm NRL match.

Also tomorrow night I’ve taken the Highlanders with a 5.5 start over the Sharks in the Super 15 Rugby, the Highlanders are in good form and the Sharks aren’t the same team they were a couple of seasons ago.

On Sunday I’ve taken a leg in the West Coast v North Melbourne AFL match taking the Eagles 25+ at home, they should keep their unbeaten start in tact here.

Last up, on Sunday night I’ve taken a leg in the penultimate round of the EPL. Manchester United are gunning for the title and are up against a Swansea side with nothing to play for. I’ve taken the +2.5 goals option in this one and I think I probably could have even got away with the +3.5 to be honest.

All up this weeks multibet has odds of $19.10, leaving a payout of $191.00 for my $10 investment.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and be sure to tell us if you have any multibets of your own for this weekend!

Good luck and happy punting!

Phillip’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge – 27 April 2012

Last week’s multibet didn’t go down too well, I tried to mix it up a bit with a bit of racing thrown into the mix, one of them came off, the other not so much.

This week, I’ve gone with a similar theme but have ditched the racing as it was just too risky.

First up, I’ve taken the Broncos 13+ in tonight’s NRL match against the Titans.

Also tonight, I’ve taken Carlton to beat Fremantle, the line was tempting but I’m playing this one safe.

In the Super Rugby tomorrow night, I’ve taken the Stormers to beat the Stormers over in Perth, they beat the Reds last week and the Force should be an easier opponent.

In the AFL tomorrow, I’ve gone for a straight up win to Geelong over Brisbane.

To cap things off, I’ve taken the Crusaders with the line of -7.5 against the Waratahs, they should be too strong.

So there you have it, this weeks multibet is paying $11.17 with a payout of $111.70 for my $10.

Happy punting!

Last week’s multibet went down in flames thanks to Carlton somehow managing to lose to Essendon, this weeks sports bet will focus on much the same as last week but hopefully our luck will be a little different this time around.

Steve’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge

First up, I’ve given a 12.5 point start to the Queensland Reds in tonight’s Super Rugby match against the woeful Blues, at odds of $1.50 this represents great value.

I’ve taken some advice from our friends at Reading the Play and taken the Broncos -7.0 on the line at $1.53 in tonights match against the Titans at Suncorp. They welcome back Peter Wallace from injury and are in fantastic form.

In the AFL tonight, I’ve backed Carlton to hit back against Fremantle after that shocking performance against Essendon last week, -9.5 on the line at @1.91 seems a good bet to me.

Tomorrow, I’ve taken a leg in both the Super Rugby and AFL with the Chiefs to get up over the Hurricanes, and Geelong to beat the Brisbane Lions by over 15.5 points.

Last up, I’ve taken some advice from our friends at Bet With Aus and gone for a leg in the EPL. Newcastle currently sit in 3rd place and are hungry for European football, they come up against a Wigan side that have just got themselves out of the relegation drop zone. I’ve taken the Newcastle “draw no bet” option in this one. I can’t see Wigan getting a result but I think at worst Newcastle will get a draw out of this one.

So there you have it, this weeks sports bet. For my $10 investment at odds of $17.67, we can expect a payout of $176.70 this week.

Good luck and happy punting, and be sure to let us know if you have any multibet’s of your own in the comments below!

There is a lack of NRL on the TV this week, which has made my job a bit hard as I try and get a winner up, and attempt to salvage what is left of my reputation as a punter. I’ve therefore gone for a massive payout with this week’s sports bet :-)

There should be points on offer in the ANZAC Test, so I’ve gone the overs at 39.5. Collingwood should dispose of Port in the AFL, and Carlton should ease past the Bombers by 25 or more.

With horse racing at Randwick tomorrow, and despite 48 inches of rain this week, I’ve taken Streama to win the Oaks, and Secret Admirer to win the Doncaster. Now, if this gets up, I’ll be quite happy, paying $363.70 for my $10 multibet!

Good Luck!

Last week’s sports bet went down to the wire and we came unstuck in the second half of our last leg, gutted is an understatement for how I felt after that.

With us needing the Hawks to win by a margin of 1-39, the Crows forgot to bring their radars and ended up going down by 54 points in the end.

For this week’s multibet, I’ve stuck to a similar theme, taking legs in the local footy codes over the British and European soccer.

First up I’ve taken the Kangaroos minus the 8.5 start in tonights ANZAC Test, with a spine of Slater, Thurston, Cronk and Smith, it could get ugly for NZ.

In the Super Rugby, I’ve taken the Highlanders straight up to beat the Blues tonight. The Blues couldn’t win a chook raffle if they held the only ticket, that’s how bad they are going.

Tomorrow, I’ve taken Carlton to continue their good form against Essendon and have taken the 40+ option.

On Sunday, I’ve got Country minus the 5.5 start to get over City in the City v Country Origin being played in Mudgee.

Last up, I’ve taken a leg in the Grand Final of the Hyundai A-League. The last few A-League bets have paid off so I thought I’d chance my arm with another one. This week I’ve taken the over 2.5 goals option with the Roar at home. This game should have plenty of goals in it.

So there you have it, this weeks sports bet. If you have any multibet’s of your own for this weekend feel free to share them below. I’ve also included a bonus AFL multibet below, it’s a bit of a roughie but odds of $1318.99 were appealing to me, have a sneaky $5 on it, what have you got to lose?

Phillip’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge – 13 April 2012

Alright. So it hasn’t been a very successfully start to the year with our sports bets.

This week I’ve gone back to basics. I’ve taken 3 games where I am pretty confident of the result, and looked for a multibet with a bit of value.

First up, the Dragons should beat the Knights, but I don’t think they’ll win by many. Defence is going to be the name of this game. Originally I wanted to take the unders in this game, but with that option unavailable, I’ve gone Dragons 1-12.

Second up, Melbourne are on fire this year, and should beat the Dogs. I’ve taken the Storm 13+ to get some value.

Lastly, Hawthorn should be able to beat Adelaide, and I’ve taken the line which is set at 29.5 points. I’m not as confident with this leg, but as it’s the last one, I’ll be able to hedge, assuming I make it that far!

All up, this sports bet is returning juicy odds of $128.70, for a $10 bet.

Good luck!

Steve’s Sports Bet – Multibet Challenge – 13 April 2012

This weeks sports bet has taken a bit of a detour. After weeks of being done by a goal here and there, I’ve ditched the British and European football legs and gone local.

First up, I’ve taken legs in tonights NRL and AFL matches. In the NRL, I’ve gone the Knights with a 12.5 start at $1.37 in what should be a pretty low scoring game against the Dragons.

In the AFL, I’ve given Carlton a 9.5 start in their match against Collingwood, I think Carlton can win but in the case of a close game I’ve covered myself here.

On Sunday in the AFL, I’ve gone for a Hawks win but I don’t think they will smash Adelaide, who have been good this year. I’ve gone for the 1-39 option at $2.18 which is good value.

Tomorrow night, I’ve dabbled on the Preliminary Final in the A-League between the Mariners and Glory. This will be a tight game and I think it will be a low scoring one, going against the trend of recent matches. So I’ve taken the under 2.5 goals option in this one, a bit risky but let’s see if it pays off.

The Crusaders at home against the Stormers should be a beauty, and I’ve taken the Crusaders at $1.60 to end the unbeaten run of the Stormers in this one.

Last up, I’ve taken the Bulls to beat the Lions by 13+ in the Super Rugby. The Bulls are on fire and despite this being an away game it’s still in their neck of the woods, I think they will be far too strong for the struggling Lions.

So there you have it, this weeks sports bet. Let me know what you think of this multibet in the comments below.

Good Luck!

After a brief hiatus for Easter, I’ve decided to do a mid-week sports bet to catch up to Steve…and hopefully I can get the jump on him!

This is a slightly ambitious multi, with 6 legs, for a total return of $74.90 for my $10 bet. I’ve concentrated on the NHL playoffs, NBA games and a few mid-week EPL games.

Good luck!
